The suspect who collected donations in Çanakkale for a small child with DMD was caught in Bursa. What was seized at the suspect's residence astonished everyone. Many campaign posters for DMD patients were found in the house.
In the Biga district of Canakkale, donation boxes were placed in various parts of the city as part of a fundraising campaign for the treatment of 6-year-old Isa Berat Emre, who is battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
DONATION BOXES COLLECTED BY IMPOSTOR, THEN DISAPPEARED
However, on Monday, June 15, an unbelievable incident occurred. Some of the donation boxes were collected by a person posing as an official. The individual then disappeared. Following the revelation of the incident, campaign volunteers and the family reacted strongly. The person who took the donations and fled was captured on the security cameras of a business. After reviewing the footage, the family filed a criminal complaint against the suspect with the police authorities.
SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN BURSA
Following a report to the Biga Police Station, law enforcement units launched an investigation. As a result of the efforts, it was determined that the person who collected the donation boxes was a suspect named N.K., residing in Bursa. N.K. was arrested at his residence in Bursa on June 24.
HAD ALSO TARGETED OTHER CAMPAIGNS
The items seized at N.K.'s residence were astonishing. Numerous campaign posters of DMD patients were found in the house.
PLACED UNDER HOUSE ARREST
Regarding N.K., who was captured after the operation, a measure of not leaving his residence (house arrest) was imposed by the court to which he was referred on June 25.
