Mustafa Kara, a beekeeper in Trabzon, woke up to noises in his house at night and caught a barn owl he thought was a thief using a beekeeper's mask and a towel, then released it into nature. Kara's humorous conversation with the owl, narrating the incident, garnered attention on social media.
Originally from the Şalpazarı district of Trabzon but living in Beşikdüzü and engaged in beekeeping, Mustafa Kara woke up to sounds coming from his house late at night. Initially thinking a burglar had entered, Kara took precautions and headed to the room where the noise was coming from. When he turned on the light, he saw a bird that he later researched online and learned was a barn owl.
"I THOUGHT IT WAS A THIEF, BUT I FOUND AN OWL"
Describing his surprise, Kara said, "While sleeping at home, I heard some sounds. It was as if someone was walking. I thought, 'A burglar must have entered,' so I took precautions and went to where the sound was coming from. As soon as I turned on the light, it came toward me. One can't help but get excited. After all, there's an owl inside the house."
HE PUT ON HIS BEEKEEPER MASK AND INTERVENED
Stating that he took precautions by putting on his beekeeper mask because he works with bees, Kara said, "I closed all the doors of the rooms. Since I realized it came through the balcony window, I left only that window open. My wife was calling out to me, 'You can't even manage to throw the owl outside!' as if I were throwing out an insect. After all, it's an owl." Kara added that he later grabbed the owl with a towel, released it onto the balcony, and the bird flew away.
Emphasizing that the owl was very cute, Kara said, "It was a very beautiful and adorable animal. Having such a lovely creature visit our home was a joy for us. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. Previously, budgerigars and nightingales have come into the house. Even birds that escaped from cages of others end up here. I don't know what's special about this house, but thank God for it."
Addressing the beliefs that owls bring bad luck, Kara said, "Some people told me, 'Owls are unlucky, they bring death to the house.' In my opinion, every creature created by God carries a soul. Therefore, it is special, and it is special for us."
Meanwhile, the footage of Mustafa Kara's humorous conversation with the barn owl that entered his house at night gained attention on social media.
