ARGUMENT SPILLED INTO THE STREET
The incident occurred in Karamanlı Neighborhood. According to the claim, Ayhan İ. (34) had an argument with his father Alaattin İ. (69) in a wheelchair while going home. As the argument escalated, Ayhan İ. scolded his father and asked him to get off the wheelchair and walk. In the footage captured on a mobile phone camera, it was seen that Ayhan İ. tried to forcibly lift his father and kicked the wheelchair.
NEIGHBORS INTERVENED
Some young people in the neighborhood who witnessed what happened intervened in the situation. A scuffle occurred between the group reacting to Ayhan İ. and the suspect. In the incident that grew rapidly, the neighbors beat Ayhan İ. It was seen that Alaattin İ. sat on the garden wall of an apartment building and watched what was happening.
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. It was learned that the parties did not file complaints against each other. Neighborhood residents said the fight broke out because Ayhan İ. mistreated his sick and elderly father.
HE SAID "MISUNDERSTANDING," REQUESTED A NURSING HOME
After the incident, Alaattin İ. told the police in his statement that the situation was misunderstood. Stating that his son has bipolar disorder, Alaattin İ. said that because the road was bad, his son could not push the wheelchair, so he asked him to get up. The elderly man, expressing that his son was having difficulty taking care of him, stated that he wanted to stay in a nursing home. Thereupon, teams from the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services stepped in and placed Alaattin İ. in a special care center.

Vusale Şimşek, who recorded the incident from her window with a mobile phone, reacted to what happened. Şimşek said, "I was sitting at home, a sound came from the window. At first I didn't get up, but when the sound rose, I looked and saw him hitting from behind. There was a young man dressed in black, he intervened by saying 'What are you doing? The man is sick.' But he pushed him. Then I called the police, neighbors also called. Until the police arrived, the neighbors couldn't stand it, young people gathered and beat him. How can a child raise a hand against his father? The man already can't walk, he's trying to lift him forcibly. My heart broke, I cried a lot that day. My only wish is for this man to be placed in a nursing home."
