TERRIFYING DISCOVERY IN A PARKED VEHICLE
Residents of the Savcılı neighborhood in Şahinbey district noticed a person who had been motionless inside a parked vehicle for a long time. After the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center, police, health, and fire teams were dispatched to the area. When the locked doors were opened by the fire department breaking the window, the painful truth was revealed. The person in the vehicle was identified as Ergün Gündüz, a father of five who had been reported missing, and it was determined that he had been shot in the head.
HOMICIDE BUREAU TRACKED STEP BY STEP
While Gündüz's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy, the teams of the Gaziantep Police Department's Homicide Bureau worked diligently. By examining security cameras in the area and the victim's last contacts, the teams traced the suspect, 33-year-old H.A. The suspect, who was quickly captured in an operation, was forced to confess his crime during the cross-examination at the police station.
DEBT DISPUTE LED TO DEATH
The murder suspect H.A. stated that he was a business friend of the victim Ergün Gündüz from the auto industry. The suspect calmly explained that they had come together in the vehicle on the day of the incident, and a violent argument broke out between them over a debt issue and a drug disagreement, leading him to lose control and shoot Gündüz in the head with the gun he had with him.
MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED
After his procedures at the police station, H.A. was sent to the courthouse under heavy security measures, where he was arrested by the court for the crime of "intentional killing" and sent to prison.
The funeral of Ergün Gündüz, a father of five, was buried amid tears, and it was learned that a comprehensive investigation into the incident was ongoing.
