General Ali Mahmud, who was the right-hand man of Bashar al-Assad's brother Mahir Assad, was found dead in his headquarters office in Damascus. A gun was also found next to the body of Ali Mahmud, who was responsible for overseeing the torture of Syrian civilians and was blamed for the deaths of thousands. In a statement from Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), it was announced that Al-Dakkak would be executed in the Asi Square in Hama. Al-Dakkak was known for feeding the Syrian opponents he tortured to the lions he kept.
