Birol Altınkılıç, the founder of Kahve Dünyası and Altınmarka Group, passed away at the age of 66. It was learned that Altınkılıç, who was in Monte Carlo, France with his family for his birthday, suffered a heart attack and could not be saved despite interventions. In 2020, with a fortune of $500 million, Altınkılıç had been listed among Forbes Turkey's 100 richest Turks.
Sad news came from Birol Altınkılıç, the founder and Chairman of the Board of Kahve Dünyası and Altınmarka Group. Altınkılıç, aged 66, passed away as a result of a heart attack.
HE LOST HIS LIFE IN MONTE CARLO According to the information obtained, Altınkılıç suffered a heart attack while he was in Monte Carlo, part of the Principality of Monaco, with his family for a birthday celebration. Despite all interventions made after the incident, Altınkılıç could not be saved, and his death was met with sorrow in the business world.
HE WAS THE FOUNDER OF VARIOUS COMPANIES AND BRANDS Birol Altınkılıç, who founded Altınmarka Gıda in 1992, established the Altınmarka Group, which over the years came to include various companies and brands under its umbrella. Kahve Dünyası, one of the group's most well-known brands, began its operations in the early 2000s with its first store opened in Eminönü, Istanbul. The brand, which produces ice cream and bakery products in addition to coffee and chocolate, gradually reached a wide network of stores across Turkey.
Birol Altınkılıç EXPANDED ABROAD Kahve Dünyası took its first step outside Turkey with a store opened in London in 2011. In subsequent years, the brand continued its growth and began operating in the UK, Romania, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, in addition to Turkey.
The Altınmarka Group also became one of the companies operating on an international scale with its investments in cocoa processing and chocolate production. While exporting products to different countries, the group also supplied raw materials and industrial chocolate to many major food companies.
HE WAS ON THE 'RICHEST 100 TURKS' LIST Altınkılıç had ranked 79th on Forbes Turkey's "Richest 100 Turks" list published in 2020, with a fortune of $500 million.
