In Çorum, a citizen faced an unusual request from the new owner after the car he sold 7 months ago with an expert inspection developed an engine failure. Rejecting the offer of "There is 150 thousand TL in costs, pay half," the former seller was bewildered by the buyer's threatening messages like "I will come to Çorum tomorrow, let me see a man in front of me."

In the second-hand car trade, even months after sales conducted in accordance with procedures, the frenzy of demanding money from sellers knows no bounds. A car dealer living in Çorum was bewildered by threatening messages he received on his phone regarding a Peugeot brand car he had transferred months ago.

"THERE IS 150 THOUSAND TL IN COSTS, WE WILL SPLIT IT FIFTY-FIFTY"

According to WhatsApp screenshots shared on social media; the person who bought the car and was saved in the contacts as "Mr. Nihat Pejo 2008" messaged the former owner, claiming that the car's engine had spun a bearing. "The Pejo you gave me is a 3-cylinder, the engine spun a bearing, and the mechanic quoted 150 billion (thousand) in costs, how will we handle this?" he demanded half of the costs from the former owner.

"YOU HAD IT CHECKED BY YOUR OWN MECHANIC, TAKE ME TO COURT"

The former owner, stating it had been almost 7 months since he sold the car, reminded that he didn't force anyone to buy it and that the buyer had approved it after having it checked by his own mechanic. Flatly refusing to make any payment, the former seller responded, "You cannot hold me responsible for a car I sold 7 months ago. You can do whatever you want, you can take me to court."

"LET ME SEE A MAN IN FRONT OF ME"

The buyer's messages, upon realizing he wouldn't get the money, turned into a threatening show. Continuing the claim "You tricked me," the buyer, after his offer was rejected, began making implicit and explicit threats instead of pursuing legal action. Messaging the former seller, the angry buyer said, "Are you paying out of your father's charity? Just don't pay and see what happens. There's no fool in front of you. Tomorrow I'll come out to Çorum, let me see a man in front of me," effectively issuing a threat.
