At around 22:00 on November 2, 2026, a cylinder-loaded truck and a light commercial vehicle collided at Oğlaklı Junction on the Mardin road. While authorities reported that the condition of 2 people was serious, they stated that the other injured were also taken under treatment in hospitals.
STATEMENT CAME FROM THE DIYARBAKIR GOVERNORSHIP In its statement after the accident, the Diyarbakır Governor's Office announced to the public information regarding the location, time, and loss of life. The governor's office statement included the following statements: "On 02.11.2026, at around 22:00, a traffic accident involving a cylinder-loaded truck and a light commercial vehicle occurred at Oğlaklı Junction on the Mardin road in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır. After the accident, 8 ambulances and 24 medical personnel were dispatched to the scene; our medical teams provided first aid to the injured at the scene and ensured their transfer to hospitals. In the accident, 2 of our citizens lost their lives, and a total of 12 of our citizens were injured, 2 of them seriously. The treatment of our injured continues in hospitals in our province. We pray to God for mercy for our citizens who lost their lives, offer our condolences to their families and relatives, and wish our injured a speedy recovery. A judicial investigation has been initiated regarding the accident."
