Uncertainty continues regarding the formation of a coalition government following the parliamentary elections held in Israel on October 27. Yair Golan, leader of the opposition Democrats Party, warned that the country could face a new security crisis, claiming that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might bring up a new conflict with Iran in order to preserve his political future.
As political pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel increases, striking statements came from the opposition front. Leader of the Democrats Party Yair Golan accused Netanyahu of refusing to accept the election results and of endangering the country in order to preserve his power.
Also drawing attention to the possibility of a new conflict with Iran, Golan warned that Netanyahu could drag Israel into a new disaster in order to save his political future.
SERIOUS ACCUSATIONS AGAINST NETANYAHU
In a post on his social media account, Yair Golan claimed that Netanyahu, despite losing the elections, was unwilling to give up power. Accusing the Israeli Prime Minister of rejecting the will of the voters, lying, inciting, and dividing society, Golan argued that Netanyahu was running the country as if it were his own property.
Golan stated that Netanyahu's struggle to stay in power was endangering Israel's security and said that this situation should not be allowed to continue.
CALLED FOR A NEW GOVERNMENT
The Israeli opposition leader stated that a new government of change should be established in the country. Calling for a unity government that would include Jews and Arabs together and bring different segments together, Golan said that such an administration should re-establish the rule of law and entrust the country's security to responsible hands.
“EVERY MINUTE OF NETANYAHU PUTS ISRAEL'S SECURITY AT RISK”
Arguing that every minute Netanyahu remains in office creates a new risk for Israel's security, Golan used the following statements in his announcement:
“The elections are over. Netanyahu lost. Now it is our turn: to take responsibility, form a government and save Israel.”
Golan stated that political change should not be delayed any further and called on the opposition for unity and responsibility.
