After the heavy rainfall that affected the Görele district of Giresun yesterday, in the flood that occurred in Zıva Creek, mother Zekiye Kırca and her daughters Burcu and Burçin Kırca from the Kırca family, who were having a picnic, were swept away by the waters. During the search and rescue efforts, first the bodies of the daughters and then the mother were reached. Father Mehmet Kırca, on the other hand, had saved himself with his own means.
Following the flood that caused the deaths of two sisters and the disappearance of their mother yesterday in the Görele district of Giresun, the body of the mother was also reached this morning during ongoing search efforts.
THEY TRIED TO SAVE THEIR FATHER WHO WAS SWEPT AWAY
Heavy rainfall that was effective on Sis Mountain yesterday caused floods and overflows. After the rainfall, the water level in the Zıva Stream on the Giresun side of the mountain rose rapidly, and the Kırca family, who were having a picnic by the stream, were swept away by the floodwaters. Initially, father Mehmet Kırca was swept into the water, while his wife Zekiye Kırca (55) and daughters Burcu and Burçin Kırca made an effort to save him. During this time, father Mehmet Kırca managed to save himself with his own means, while his wife and two daughters were swept away by the floodwaters.
THEIR BODIES FOUND MILES AWAY
In the efforts involving a search and rescue team of approximately 80 people, the body of one of the sisters, Burcu Kırca, was reached first. While search efforts for Zekiye Kırca and Burçin Kırca continued from the air and land, the body of Burçin Kırca was also found 25 km away from where she fell into the stream, on Çavuşlu beach where the Zıva Stream flows into the sea.
The body of mother Zekiye Kırca was reached near the fish pond in the Kırıklı Village area.
Father Mehmet Kırca could not stand when he received the news that the bodies of his two daughters and wife had been found. The grieving father's moments broke hearts.
