In the Lice district of Diyarbakır, 7 people, 5 of whom were siblings, lost their lives when the minibus carrying passengers to an engagement ceremony in Muş overturned. After the autopsy, the bodies of 5 siblings and 2 nephews were handed over to their families and buried side by side.
A family was torn apart when a minibus overturned in the Lice district of Diyarbakır.
7 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES, 9 PEOPLE WERE INJURED
A minibus, whose driver's identity has not yet been learned, went out of control and overturned on the Lice-Kulp highway near the rural Karahasan Neighborhood. Upon the notification, 112 Emergency Health, fire brigade, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region. In the accident, 7 people lost their lives and 9 people were injured, 1 of them seriously.
THEY WERE GOING TO AN ENGAGEMENT CEREMONY
It was learned that the passengers in the minibus had set out from Diyarbakır to Muş to attend an engagement ceremony.
5 SIBLINGS AND 2 NEPHEWS WERE BURIED SIDE BY SIDE
The bodies of the siblings Veysi, Vedat, Feyziye, Özcan, and Naide Şaylıkay, who lost their lives in the accident, along with their nephews Zeyd Şaylıkay (3) and Nazya Demirhan, were brought to the Yeniköy Asri Cemetery in the Bağlar district after autopsy procedures. Following the funeral prayer, the bodies of the 5 siblings and 2 nephews were buried side by side.
GOVERNOR ZORLUOĞLU VISITED THE INJURED IN THE HOSPITAL
Diyarbakır Governor Murat Zorluoğlu visited those injured in the accident in the hospitals where they were receiving treatment and received information about their health conditions.
Making statements after the visit, Governor Zorluoğlu stated that the investigation into the accident is ongoing and said: "This morning at around 09.00, a minibus, which we learned contained 18 people including the driver and was traveling to Muş province for an engagement organization, had an accident in the Karahasan Neighborhood of our Lice district. A single-vehicle traffic accident occurred. According to initial information, our relevant law enforcement forces have reported that the minibus's tire blew out and it overturned, landing in a ditch.
As a result of the accident, unfortunately, 7 of our citizens lost their lives, 2 at the scene and 5 in the health institutions they were taken to. I wish God's mercy upon our deceased citizens. I extend my condolences to their relatives and our fellow citizens in Diyarbakır.
Of course, there were also citizens injured in the accident. Currently, we have a total of 9 injured in 3 of our hospitals: Dicle University, Selahattin Eyyubi State Hospital, and Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital. The condition of 2 of the 9 injured is medically serious. The conditions of the other 7 injured have been recorded as moderate and minor injuries.
The treatments of our injured citizens continue in intensive care units and regular wards. Hopefully, they will all be discharged from our hospitals with recovery. We convey our get-well wishes to them.

Regarding the accident, of course, the necessary judicial investigation has been completed, and meticulous work is being carried out.
