Heavy rainfall and hail in Hatay and Osmaniye, located in the Eastern Mediterranean, caused streets to flood and some roads to collapse.

After the yellow code warning from the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM), heavy rain and hail were effective in the morning hours in the Defne district of Hatay and the Düziçi district of Osmaniye.

HOMES AND WORKPLACES FLOODED

Citizens caught unprepared for the rain had a hard time. Drivers in traffic also struggled to move forward. Some streets and avenues, as well as homes and workplaces, were flooded. In the Düziçi district, streams overflowed and agricultural lands were damaged. Some village roads and retaining walls of houses collapsed. Municipal teams started water drainage work.

STREAM OVERFLOWED

In the Dörtyol district of Hatay, the Deliçay stream in the Kuzuculu neighborhood overflowed due to heavy rain. Some nearby homes, streets, and avenues were flooded due to the overflow. Local residents stated that they had a hard time because of the flood.
