AGRICULTURAL LANDS WERE SUBMERGED
The heavy rain, which has been intermittently increasing its impact for a week in the central district of Antakya, has caused damage to houses and agricultural lands in some neighborhoods. Flooding occurred in the cultivated fields and many houses and barns in the neighborhoods of Aşağıoba, Paşaköy, and Zülüflühan.
The State Water Works (DSI), Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, and Antakya Municipality teams have started working in the areas affected by the heavy rain.
Mustafa Kaplan, a resident of Aşağıoba neighborhood, told AA reporter that his house and barn were submerged due to the flooding. Mehmet Uğur, another resident of the neighborhood, noted that floods occurred due to the blockage of the water channel flowing into the Asi River as a result of the heavy rain.
On the other hand, CHP Hatay Deputy Mehmet Güzelmansur and CHP Antakya District President Ümit Kutlu also conducted inspections in the region and met with the residents of the neighborhood.
