In 2025, retirees are in hopeful anticipation regarding the bonuses they will receive during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. Although very different figures have been mentioned for the bonuses, we have compiled the strongest scenarios for you.
Millions of retirees are focused on holiday bonuses. There is a prevailing expectation for an increase in the bonuses, which are paid at a total of 6,000 TL in 2024.
The payment dates for the holiday bonuses have also started to become clear.
- Ramadan Feast: It will be celebrated between March 30 and April 1. The bonuses are expected to be deposited into accounts between March 24-28, 2025.
- Feast of Sacrifice: It will be celebrated between June 6-9. The bonuses are estimated to be paid between June 2-5, 2025.
4 DIFFERENT INCREASE FORMULAS ON THE TABLE
Four different increase formulas are being evaluated for the holiday bonuses for retirees:
1. SCENARIO: According to the 6-Month Inflation Rate:
An increase of 15.75% may be applied.
New amount: 3,472.50 TL (Rounded to 3,500 TL).
2. SCENARIO: According to the Annual Inflation Rate:
The inflation rate for 2024 was realized at 44.38%.
New amount: 4,331 TL.
Total payment: 8,662 TL.
3. SCENARIO: Fixed Increase:
A fixed increase may be applied as it was last year.
New amount: 4,000 TL.
Total payment: 8,000 TL.
4. SCENARIO: 50% Increase:
The 50% increase applied last year may be repeated.
New amount: 4,500 TL.
Total payment: 9,000 TL.
WIDOWS AND ORPHANS WILL ALSO BENEFIT
The increase in holiday bonuses also includes those receiving widow and orphan pensions. The new bonus amounts for widows and orphans, who will receive payments in proportion to their shares, may be as follows:
Those receiving 75% of the death pension:
- If the bonus increases to 3,500 TL: 2,625 TL.
- If the bonus increases to 4,000 TL: 3,000 TL.
- If the bonus increases to 4,331 TL: 3,248 TL.
- If the bonus increases to 4,500 TL: 3,375 TL.
FINAL DECISION WILL BE CLARIFIED SOON
It is expected that the formula for determining the 2025 holiday bonus for retirees will be clarified soon with an announcement from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
