The statements of the 6 suspects who were detained in connection with the murder of two people, one of whom was pregnant, in Şişli have emerged. It has been learned that the attackers carried out the assault based on instructions received from abroad, believing that their target was a member of a rival gang. It was determined that their main target, a person named Samet, escaped unharmed.
In the incident that occurred on the night of April 7 in Kuştepe Neighborhood, Yavru Kuş Street, it was learned that Kader Küçükcoşkun, who was pregnant, and Gültekin Gezer lost their lives as a result of a gun attack in the apartment room they were staying in.
6 SUSPECTS DETAINED
During the investigations initiated by the police regarding the incident, the suspects, whose escape moments were captured by security cameras, were detained while trying to leave the country from Edirne. The suspects A.S., B.Z., A.Y., and S.M., who were brought to the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order Branch for questioning, provided information that led to the capture of two suspects under the age of 18, raising the total number of detainees to 6. The suspects were referred to the courthouse.
THOUGHT THEY WERE RIVAL GANG MEMBERS AFTER HEARING THE CONVERSATION
During the interrogations, it was determined that the suspects carried out the attack because they believed that the people in the apartment they raided were members of a rival criminal gang with whom they had a feud. Investigations revealed that Küçükcoşkun and Gezer had just arrived at the apartment hotel, while the suspects identified rival gang members who had been staying there for 20 days during a conversation with the hotel staff.
INSTRUCTIONS CAME FROM ABROAD
It was determined that the suspects, after calling a number abroad, decided to carry out the attack based on the instructions they received. During the attack, the suspects, who shot Gültekin Gezer after he opened the door thinking they were cargo personnel, accidentally shot Kader Küçükcoşkun at that moment. It was noted that there were 5 people inside during the incident, while the main target, a person named Samet, escaped the attack unharmed. In the police investigation, it was learned that the individuals staying in the targeted apartment had no connections to any criminal organization.
