Historical Troy exhibition in Rome with support from Turkey

Turkey is bringing the Trojan War, which deeply influenced world history, to the historic Colosseum in Rome, one of the most important meeting points of world tourism.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced the good news. Historical artifacts from Troy, an important part of Anatolian history and the subject of box-office record-breaking films, will be transported to an exhibition to be held on June 11 in Rome, Italy. The deep and colorful history of the Anatolian geography will be presented to the appreciation of art lovers worldwide.

TROY'S FAMOUS STORY IN ROME

Sharing a post on his social media account about the exhibition, Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said, "We will open our exhibition titled 'Troy and Rome: Myths, Legends, Stories of Ancient Mediterranean' on June 11 at the Colosseum Archaeological Park, one of Rome's world-famous heritage sites."

221 ARTIFACTS FROM TURKEY TO BE SHOWN IN ROME

Stating that the exhibition will feature a total of 221 artifacts from 19 museums in Turkey, as well as a replica of the Trojan Horse, Ersoy shared the information, "50 of the artifacts will be exhibited for the first time, and 99 artifacts from the Troy Museum will be presented in the exhibition."

HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS RESCUED AND PREPARED FOR EXHIBITION

Ersoy, stating that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has been conducting a comprehensive conservation process in 6 regional laboratories by restorers since December 2025, continued his statement as follows:

"Our historical artifacts are being prepared for exhibition at international standards. Insurance, transportation, and preservation processes are meticulously carried out in line with ICOM lending standards. I thank everyone who contributed, especially our teams from the General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums, who are determinedly bringing the cultural heritage of these lands to the world stage."
