The eyes are now on the June inflation rate, which will be announced on July 3, for the civil servant and pensioner salary increase. The inflation rate for the past five months has been 15.09%, which has already guaranteed this rate of increase for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees. The June inflation is expected to be between 1% and 2%. In this case, the pension increase will be between 16.24% and 17.40%, while the civil servant increase will be between 15.14% and 16.29%.

Millions of civil servants, SSK, and BAĞ-KUR retirees are focusing on the June inflation data to be announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) for the July raise. With the five-month data, inflation has been realized at 15.09%, and the definitive raise rates will be determined after the latest data.

THEY GUARANTEED A 14% RAISE

While SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees will receive a raise equal to the six-month inflation rate, civil servants and retired civil servants will have the inflation difference reflected in addition to the 5% collective bargaining raise given in January. Based on the five-month data, SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees have already guaranteed a 15.09% raise, while civil servants and retired civil servants have guaranteed a 14% raise.

3 DIFFERENT INFLATION SCENARIOS

According to economists' predictions, inflation is expected to be between 1% and 2% in June. In light of these predictions, three scenarios regarding civil servant and pensioner salary increases emerge.

- If June inflation is 1%:

  • Civil servant raise: 15.14%
  • Pension raise (SSK/BAĞ-KUR): 16.24%

- If June inflation is 1.5%:

  • Civil servant raise: 15.72%
  • Pension raise: 16.82%

- If June inflation is 2%:

  • Civil servant raise: 16.29%
  • Pension raise: 17.40%

OFFICIAL FIGURES TO BE ANNOUNCED ON JULY 3

It is expected that TÜİK will announce the June inflation data on Wednesday, July 3, 2025. With this data, the new salary raise for millions of civil servants and retirees will also become clear.

2.5 MILLION RETIREES' JULY RAISE IS AT RISK

On the other hand, approximately 2.5 million retirees, whose base salary is below 10,000 lira and who receive 14,469 lira with Treasury support, will not see a raise in their salaries in July. For this group to receive a raise, a legal regulation needs to be made in the Parliament. However, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will go on vacation on July 1. If the deputies do not postpone the vacation, the regulation will be shelved, and millions of retirees will face a zero raise in July. Retirees are calling on the government during this period of struggle for survival, asking for the regulation to be quickly implemented before the vacation.
