Illegal betting operation in 28 provinces: 100 arrests

In simultaneous operations coordinated by the Provincial Gendarmerie Commands and conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of 28 provinces targeting qualified fraud and illegal betting crimes, 206 suspects were detained. Of these suspects, 100 were arrested, while judicial control measures were imposed on 94. The investigations revealed a transaction volume of 12 billion lira in the suspects' accounts.

Operations conducted by 28 Provincial Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices within the scope of investigations into 'qualified fraud' and 'illegal gambling' offenses resulted in arrest, search, seizure, and detention decisions for 206 suspects. In this context, a total of 206 suspects were detained in operations carried out at addresses determined by the Provincial Gendarmerie Commands. Among the suspects referred to the courthouse, 100 were arrested, while judicial control measures were applied to 94.

TOTAL OF 12 BILLION IN TRANSACTIONS IN ACCOUNTS

The Ministry of Interior shared information regarding the 'qualified fraud' and 'illegal gambling' operations conducted in 28 provinces. In the statement made by the Ministry: 'In the operations organized by our Gendarmerie targeting 'Qualified Fraud and Illegal Gambling' offenses centered in 28 provinces, 206 suspects with a total of 12 Billion TL in money movements in their accounts were captured.'

100 ARRESTS

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that 100 of the suspects were arrested, and judicial control measures were applied to 94. It was also stated that the procedures for the others are continuing.

The statement included the following information:

'In coordination with the Gendarmerie General Command Cyber Crimes Department, MASAK, and Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, by our Provincial Gendarmerie Commands; in the operations conducted across 28 provinces, it was determined that the captured suspects;

-Operated illegal gambling,

-Acted as intermediaries for the transfer of proceeds from crime, and

-Defrauded our citizens by posting fake advertisements through social media accounts.

We continue our fight against cyber crimes with determination to ensure that no crime or criminal disturbing the peace of our citizens goes unpunished.
