İmamoğlu's response to the government regarding 'trustees': Everyone will be held accountable before the judiciary.

09.11.2024 18:40

In a speech during the introduction of the service vehicles of the Union of Turkish Municipalities in Hatay, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) President Ekrem İmamoğlu stated that anyone who acts unlawfully, regardless of their title, will be held accountable for their injustices both to the nation and before the law.

The handover ceremony of the İBB Emekçileri Kırıkhan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, built with the contributions of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) employees, was held. IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu also attended the ceremony. After this, İmamoğlu proceeded to the introduction of service vehicles of the Union of Turkish Municipalities (TBB). In his speech here, İmamoğlu reacted to the government with a 'trustee' response.

"YOU HAVE NO BREATH LEFT UNTIL 2028"

Stating that the ruling AK Party has no strength left to go until the date of the regular general elections in 2028, İmamoğlu said, "This nation is determined to erase you from its memory, my brother. It is determined to send you back to your homes. There is not much time left for you, let me tell you from today. Especially, you have no breath left to go until 2028. Your attitude is also over. You will all see. I already wish them good luck. I say goodbye to them, goodbye from now on. Therefore, I say to these mayor friends, to the local administrators of this country who are supposed to distribute justice, to the members of the judiciary; do your job in accordance with rights and law. I strongly recommend, I strongly recommend. I tell them to especially avoid steps that cannot be undone."

"THEY WILL ACCOUNT IN COURT"

Referring to the phone call with Remzi Kartal, which was shown as the reason for the arrest of Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, who was appointed as a trustee, İmamoğlu said, "But the one who ate the meal 10 years ago is not a terrorist; someone is a terrorist over a fabricated phone conversation. You have been declaring us terrorists for 10 years! You have been declaring us terrorists for 10 years. Why? Why? If you voted for him, everything is fine; if you didn't vote for him, you are a terrorist. Has any mind that divides a nation like this ever lived on this land? No! No one else has made this nation experience such a thing. Therefore, I say this clearly and emphatically; everyone who acts unlawfully towards every individual of this nation, regardless of their title, will soon account for the injustices, unlawfulness, and inhumanity they have committed to the nation, and they will also account for it before the law, my brother. It is that clear." he said.

"GET YOUR HEAD TOGETHER"

İmamoğlu continued his remarks as follows: "It will be such that; no one will dare to commit injustices and unlawful acts on this land again. Those who exploit the power they have behind the title given by the nation will be held accountable at the ballot box. Then, a fair judicial process will ensure that everyone is tried and held accountable before the law. Therefore, I say, I say; get your head together. Do your job with an application that is lawful and respects human rights, loving your nation and your homeland."
