Immigrant Boat Caught On Fire In Bodrum

A fire erupted at a boat, which would carry a group of illegal immigrants from Turkish resort town of Bodrum to Greel island of Kos, on early Thursday. Reportedly, the fire broke out when gas tank exploded on the bay in Akyarlar neighborhood. 50 Syrian immigrants including 10 children escaped the death.

A fire erupted at a boat, which would carry a group of illegal immigrants from Turkish resort town of Bodrum to Greel island of Kos, on early Thursday.

Reportedly, the fire broke out when gas tank exploded on the bay in Akyarlar neighborhood. 50 Syrian immigrants including 10 children escaped the death at the last minute before they set on journey. The gendarmerie arrived at the scene and removed the immigrants.

Meanwhile, the gendarmerie units have been conducting a tight supervision since the latest boat tragedy which claimed 12 lives on Wednesday. The officers stop each suspicious vehicle and detained some individuals who carry illegal immigrants.
