In a chain-reaction traffic accident involving a tourist shuttle bus, a camper van, and two cars on the Terni-Rieti road in central Italy, 6 people lost their lives and 34 were injured.
A chain traffic accident involving a tourist service bus, a caravan, and two cars occurred near the border of the Umbria and Lazio regions in central Italy.
6 DEAD, 34 INJURED
According to the Italian news agency ANSA, 6 people lost their lives and 34 people were injured in the accident. Umbria Regional President Stefania Proietti, speaking to ANSA, reported that 6 of the 34 injured are in life-threatening condition, 2 others are in serious condition and are receiving treatment.
Proietti reported that those injured in the accident were taken to hospitals in Terni, Perugia, Spoleto, Foligno, and Rieti, while accommodation was arranged in Terni for the other passengers.
IT WAS TAKING TOURISTS TO THE WATERFALL
Proietti also stated that the service bus was taking tourists to the Marmore Waterfall, one of the country's famous natural attractions.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the accident.
