The heavy rain and severe storm affecting Adana brought along flooding. As water overflowed on the main arteries, streets and avenues turned into lakes.

After the sudden downpour in the center of Adana, the roads turned into lakes. While traffic came to a standstill in some areas, vehicles were stranded on the roadside due to the water accumulation on the main streets and arteries.

WARNING FROM METEOROLOGY

Meanwhile, the Meteorology 6th Regional Directorate stated in its warning that the rain is expected to lose its effect after noon tomorrow; it advised to be cautious and prepared against adverse conditions such as sudden floods, water inundation, lightning, local hail, sudden strong winds, and disruptions in transportation. While the rain continues, the teams of Adana Metropolitan Municipality have started working on the flooded streets and avenues.

RAINY WEATHER IS INCREASING ITS IMPACT

According to the latest forecasts by the General Directorate of Meteorology; it is predicted that the entire country will be partly and very cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in the Marmara (except Edirne and Kırklareli), Inner Aegean, Mediterranean, southern and western parts of Central Anatolia, Western and Eastern Black Sea, Central Black Sea coasts, and Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia.

It is expected that the rainfall will be strong locally in the inner parts of the Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, southwestern Central Anatolia, southwestern Eastern Anatolia, as well as in Istanbul, Sakarya, Kocaeli, Bingöl, Muş, Bitlis, Batman, Siirt, Sinop regions, northern parts of Diyarbakır, Kastamonu coasts, Kırklareli coasts, the districts of Saray and Çerkezköy in Tekirdağ, the north of Balıkesir, and the east of Çanakkale, the south of Erzurum, and the east of Hakkari. It is predicted that the wind will blow strongly from the north at 40-60 km/h in the western Marmara and coastal Aegean regions.

Due to the expected strong rainfall in the inner parts of the Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, southwestern Central Anatolia, southwestern Eastern Anatolia, as well as in Istanbul, Sakarya, Kocaeli, Bingöl, Muş, Bitlis, Batman, Siirt, Sinop regions, northern parts of Diyarbakır, Kastamonu coasts, Kırklareli coasts, the districts of Saray and Çerkezköy in Tekirdağ, the north of Balıkesir, and the east of Çanakkale, the south of Erzurum, and the east of Hakkari, it is necessary to be cautious and prepared against possible adverse conditions.

WARNING FROM ORHAN ŞEN: SERIOUS FLOODING MAY OCCUR

Famous Meteorology Expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen issued a warning by sharing a graph. In his post, Orhan Şen stated, "If the system below shifts south on Sunday and Monday, it may cause serious flooding in the coastal areas of the Western Black Sea."
