In an operation targeting the Bayğaralar criminal organization in 8 provinces centered in Adana, 287 suspects who were detained were referred to the courthouse after procedures at the police department.
SIMULTANEOUS RAIDS WERE CONDUCTED AT DETERMINED ADDRESSES
Within the scope of the investigation initiated against the Bayğaralar organized crime organization under the coordination of the Adana Republic Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the General Directorate of Security Smuggling and Organized Crime Combat (KOM) Department and the Adana Provincial Security Directorate KOM Branch started work. Following technical and physical surveillance, the identities of 287 suspects were determined, who were found to have committed the crimes of 'Establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes', 'Intentional homicide', 'Attempted intentional homicide', 'Intentional injury', 'Drug trafficking', 'Damage to property', 'Law No. 6136 on Firearms and Knives' and 'Endangering general security intentionally'. Based on these determinations, the teams conducted simultaneous raids on April 13 at addresses determined in Istanbul, Izmir, Konya, Antalya, Mersin, Şanlıurfa, and Tekirdağ, centered in Adana. In the operation, 287 suspects with arrest warrants were detained.
EXTENSIVE SECURITY MEASURES WERE TAKEN
Additionally, during searches at the suspects' addresses, 1 hand grenade, 4 Kalashnikov infantry rifles, 18 pistols (2 of which were automatic) and 25 magazines, 2 shotguns, 1128 cartridges and bullets, 39,733 narcotic pills, 72.5 grams of marijuana, 45 thousand euros, and 33,735 liras were seized. 2 workplaces and 5 vehicles belonging to the suspects, valued at 50 million liras, which were assessed to have been obtained from crime, were also confiscated.
The 287 suspects, whose interrogation and procedures at the police department were completed, were referred to the courthouse under extensive security measures.
