A fire broke out in the electrical panel at the entrance of a building in Beşiktaş, filling the interior with smoke, while 10 people trapped inside were rescued by firefighters. There were also citizens who intervened in the fire.
A fire that broke out from the electrical panel at the entrance of a 4-story building in Beşiktaş caused the interior to fill with smoke. Ten people who were trapped inside were rescued by firefighters after they escaped to the windows and balconies. While health teams intervened for 2 people affected by smoke, the terrifying moments were captured on camera. According to the information obtained, the electrical panel at the entrance of the 4-story building in Beşiktaş Konaklar Neighborhood started to burn around 12:30 for an unknown reason. Flames occasionally rose from the panel, filling the entire building with smoke. Upon the notification of the surrounding people, fire and ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene. Some citizens intervened in the flames with a fire extinguisher until the firefighters arrived.
CITIZENS RESCUED FROM THE WINDOW
While the fire crews were conducting cooling operations, 10 people trapped in the fire were rescued with a ladder truck. Health teams intervened for 2 people affected by smoke in the ambulance. Moments when the smoke from the fire covered the sky were captured by a mobile phone camera. Additionally, the moments of the trapped citizens being rescued were also recorded by a mobile phone camera.
"WE INTERVENED WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER"
Emre Kılıç, who saw the fire, said, "The flames grew due to the fire that broke out from the panel. At that moment, we checked the natural gas pipe and electricity. Then we broke the door with a stone from the ground. After that, we intervened with the fire extinguisher inside. But when we tried to extinguish it, the flames grew even more. In the end, when we managed to reduce it a bit, the firefighters had already arrived. There were people upstairs. Yes, the firefighters rescued those who were trapped. 10 people got out," he said.
"LOUD NOISES WERE HEARD"
Nurgün Doğan, who was trapped in the fire, said, "Loud noises were heard. Then we started to go out into the corridor. A thick black smoke began to come out. We immediately evacuated through the fire escape, but the firefighters assisted those who could not evacuate," he said.
