The dog, which was stranded after falling into a mud storage area in the Buca district of İzmir, was rescued by AFAD teams. Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, who announced that the dog—cleaned by washing and placed under treatment by veterinarians—was named "Şanslı" (Lucky), thanked the AFAD, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality fire brigade, and veterinary teams that took part in the rescue operation.

In a statement on his social media account, Minister Çiftçi said, "Our AFAD teams came to the aid of our dear friend who fell into a mud storage area in the Buca district of İzmir and was stranded. Our cute friend, rescued through our teams' careful work, was washed and cleaned, and was named 'Şanslı'. The care and treatment of Şanslı, who has been placed under treatment by our veterinarians, continues. Every creature created is precious to us; every life is entrusted to us. I sincerely thank primarily AFAD, as well as the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality fire brigade and our veterinary teams, for their devoted efforts in rescuing our dear friend," he said.
