HEAT ALERT IN FRANCE
The French meteorological agency Meteo France announced that a red alert was issued in 16 provinces, including the capital Paris, and an orange alert in 68 provinces due to the extreme heat. The temperature in the country is expected to reach a minimum of 20 degrees and a maximum of 41 degrees during the day.

Due to the extreme heat, approximately 1900 schools were closed completely or partially for one day across the country. Yesterday, classes were also suspended in 750 schools for the same reason. Meanwhile, the increasing ozone pollution in Paris and its surroundings due to the hot weather prompted local authorities to take action.
PRIVATE VEHICLES BANNED FROM TRAFFIC
In a statement made yesterday by the Paris Police Department, it was announced that only certain vehicles that pollute the environment the least would be allowed to enter traffic in Paris and some surrounding provinces, while all other vehicles would be banned from traffic. Public service vehicles were exempted from this decision, and speed limits in the relevant areas were also reduced.
TOP FLOOR OF THE EIFFEL TOWER CLOSED
Due to the hot weather in the capital Paris, the top floor of the Eiffel Tower was closed to visitors today. French President Emmanuel Macron stated in a post on X that vulnerable people, especially the elderly and children, are primarily affected by the extreme heat.
Macron urged citizens to pay attention to the condition of their relatives and shared a visual detailing the precautions that should be taken, such as drinking water and staying in a cool place during hot weather. According to national media reports, a homeless person in the city of Besançon and a 73-year-old man in the city of Grenoble lost their lives due to the hot weather.
Due to the hot weather in France, the operations of one reactor at the Golfech Nuclear Power Plant in the Tarn-et-Garonne province were halted as of June 29.
