In a cafe in Istanbul, a customer ordered by saying "give me a lemonade" in the imperative mood, then attacked the female employee who warned him and turned the place into a war zone. In the horrifying moments captured on camera, the enraged assailant first punched and broke the touch-screen cash register on the counter, then threatened the staff trying to restrain him and smashed the glass lemonade dispenser, flowerpots, and tables by kicking them to pieces.
In an incident at a café in Istanbul, a customer who was warned for his rude behavior while placing an order went berserk and turned the café into a battlefield. The moments when the assailant threatened the staff and broke items one by one, captured second by second on security cameras, caused outrage.
"GIVE ME LEMONADE" HE ORDERED, THEN SAID "WHO ARE YOU?" WHEN WARNED
The incident began when a man in a black T-shirt approached the café counter. Engaging in a dialogue with a female employee, he said in a commanding tone, "Give me lemonade." When the female employee responded, "What do you mean 'give me'?", the customer further hardened his attitude, saying, "Give it here" and maintaining his oppressive tone.
After the employee warned, "I'm not your son or anything, speak to me properly," the man became more aggressive, raising his voice and saying, "Who are you? Do you set the rules here?" and attempted to advance on the young woman.
THE FIRST BLOW ON THE REGISTER: HE SMASHED THE SCREEN
When the female employee, unable to endure the insults, said, "I'm closing the register, I'm not serving you," the enraged assailant shouted, "What are you closing, damn it!" and slammed the POS device and touchscreen computer on the counter with a hard punch, sending them flying behind the counter. As the screen shattered into pieces, café staff tried to intervene, but it was impossible to stop the furious man.
STAFF INTERVENED BUT HE DID NOT CALM DOWN
Upon the noise and shouting, other male employees quickly arrived at the scene and tried to restrain the assailant. However, the man physically attacked the young people trying to calm him down, threatening, "Don't make the wrong move on me, I'll destroy this place." Meanwhile, the female employee began recording with her mobile phone to report to the police.
PRETENDED TO CALM DOWN, THEN ATTACKED AGAIN: DESTROYED THE ENTIRE CAFÉ
After being moved slightly away from the counter by other male employees, the man suddenly lunged again in moments when he appeared to have calmed down. In those moments captured by security cameras, the assailant grabbed service trays from the counter and threw them to the ground, toppled a large glass dispenser and stand containing fresh lemonade in one go, covering everything with glass shards and liquid. Unrelenting, he moved to the customer area of the café, kicked over and knocked down large potted plants there, and finally overturned large wooden dining tables, smashing the porcelain plates and glasses on them to pieces.
HE LEFT WHILE MAKING THREATS
After those moments watched in shock and fear by the staff, the man, who caused significant material and moral damage to the café, left the scene while making threats. Following a complaint from the café management, security forces launched a wide-ranging investigation to capture the assailant seen in the footage.
