In the Milas district of Muğla, a quarantine has been initiated in 11 neighborhoods due to foot-and-mouth disease. It has been noted that during the 30-day quarantine period, the entry and exit of livestock, both large and small, will not be allowed in the neighborhoods.
There is a panic over foot-and-mouth disease in Muğla. In a statement made by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, it was reported that a study was initiated after the identification of foot-and-mouth disease in a large livestock operation operating in the district.
11 NEIGHBORHOODS PLACED UNDER QUARANTINE
Kemikler Neighborhood has been designated as a "protection zone," while movement restrictions have been applied in the neighborhoods of Ağaclihoyuk, Akyol, Koru, Gökçeler, Ekinnanbarı, Yaka, Güllük, Kıyıkışlacık, Boğaziçi, Dörttepe, and Meşelik. In this context, quarantine will be implemented in the neighborhoods.
It has been noted that during the 30-day quarantine period, the entry and exit of livestock, both large and small, will not be allowed in the neighborhoods.
The statement emphasized that foot-and-mouth vaccinations have been administered to 12,763 animals in the region, and that breeders have been informed about disinfection practices, preventive measures against the spread of the disease, and the importance of vaccination activities, while all field studies in Milas and its surroundings are closely monitored by technical personnel.
