Naci Gezer, a father of two and one of three workers who lost their lives after being electrocuted by high-voltage current while repairing a faulty water pump at an iron and steel factory in Samsun's Tekkeköy district, was sent off on his final journey on the shoulders of his family and colleagues.
Naci Gezer (46), a father of two who lost his life in the electrical disaster that occurred yesterday evening at the Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Factory in Samsun's Tekkeköy district, resulting in the deaths of 3 workers, was carried on the shoulders of his colleagues and loved ones on his final journey.
THEY WERE ELECTROCUTED The incident occurred around 21:40 yesterday at the steel plant facility of the factory operating on Sakarya Street in the Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) Mahallesi. Workers Naci Gezer, Mustafa İnanç (50), and Yunus Çekiç (47), who initiated repair work after a pump failure in the well collecting wastewater, were electrocuted by high voltage and died at the scene.
Naci Gezer CARRIED ON THE SHOULDERS OF HIS COLLEAGUES The body of Naci Gezer, one of the workers who lost his life in the disaster, was brought to Hz. Ömer Mosque in the Adalet Mahallesi of İlkadım district after procedures at the Forensic Medicine Institute. After receiving forgiveness, the funeral prayer was held following the noon prayer. Gezer's body was carried on the shoulders of his colleagues and relatives to the funeral vehicle to be taken to Derecik Family Cemetery.
The funeral ceremony was attended by Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board Chairman Salih Zeki Murzioğlu, businessmen Adnan Ölmez and Ahmet Şenocak, as well as numerous factory workers, relatives, and loved ones.
THE OTHER TWO WORKERS ALSO LAID TO REST The body of worker Mustafa İnanç, who also lost his life in the same accident, was brought to Kayabaşı Mosque in the Kayabaşı Mahallesi of Kavak district after being retrieved from the Forensic Medicine Institute. İnanç's body was buried in Kayabaşı Cemetery with tears after the funeral prayer following the afternoon prayer.
