In Siverek, the cable of a construction elevator snapped: 2 workers lost their lives

In the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa, two workers, aged 18 and 19, lost their lives in an accident caused by the snapping of a cable on a construction elevator carrying workers painting the exterior facade of a building.

In the Dicle neighborhood of Şanlıurfa's Siverek district, the rope of a construction elevator carrying workers painting the exterior of a building broke for an unknown reason.

ONE WAS 18, THE OTHER 19 YEARS OLD...

18-year-old Muhammed Mustafa Toruntay and 19-year-old Muhammed Kızılkan, who were in the elevator that fell from approximately the 5th floor to the ground, were seriously injured. Upon notification from citizens who witnessed the accident, police and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene. After initial intervention by health teams, the two workers were taken to Siverek State Hospital, but despite all efforts by doctors, they could not be saved and died.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

Police teams took security measures at the scene, and an investigation into the accident was initiated.
