In the Muang district of Thailand's Mukdahan province, an 11-year-old child drove a pickup truck into a group of Buddhist monks walking on the road. The accident caused 8 deaths and 18 injuries. Authorities stated that the child took his father's vehicle without permission and also mentioned that the child is a special needs individual. Police have taken the child into custody.

13 OF THE 18 INJURED MONKS ARE IN SERIOUS CONDITION

Authorities reported that 5 of the monks died at the scene and 3 died in the hospital, while 13 of the 18 injured monks are in serious condition. Officials stated that the accident occurred near Na Si Nuan village at 11:55 local time, and the monks were walking towards Don Tan district after eating at Wat Roi Phra Phutthabat Phu Manorom Temple.
