In a striking new development in the major investigation coordinated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Alihan Kuriş criminal organization, search operations targeting Hilmi Tuna Kuriş, the fugitive brother of the organization's leader Alihan Kuriş, led to the seizure of 200 kilograms of gold bullion with a market value of approximately 1.34 billion Turkish Lira at a single address.
The circle is narrowing in the organized crime investigation conducted meticulously by the Ankara Provincial Police Department teams. Operations launched by police forces to capture Hilmi Tuna Kuriş, the brother of organization leader Alihan Kuriş, who was arrested and sent to prison in recent days, and who is a fugitive in the file, continue without interruption.
200 KILOS OF GOLD BULLION SEIZED
According to the news by journalist Burak Doğan; police teams tracking the fugitive suspect raided a critical address that had been identified. During the detailed search carried out at the address, a massive fortune was uncovered. The teams seized a total of 200 kilograms of gold bullion of unknown origin at the address.
CURRENT MARKET VALUE IS 1.34 BILLION TL
The current market value of the seized gold bullion was determined to be 1.34 billion Turkish Lira. In-depth investigations continue into how the organization, which is at the center of money laundering and financial irregularities charges, obtained this gold of unknown origin and into its financial traffic.
32 PEOPLE ARRESTED IN THE INVESTIGATION
Within the scope of the work carried out by the Ankara Provincial Police Department Financial Crimes Branch Directorate, coordinated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; 38 suspects detained within the scope of the activities of the Alihan Kuriş Criminal Organization for Profit were brought to the Ankara Courthouse last night. In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that all of the suspects were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for arrest. An arrest decision was issued for 32 of the 38 suspects referred, and judicial control measures were ordered for 6 suspects. The statement emphasized that the investigation continues in a multifaceted and meticulous manner.
