An operation was launched against a gang based in Adana that was determined to have staged 76 traffic accidents in 7 provinces between 2022 and 2026 and obtained unfair compensation from 17 insurance companies. A Kalashnikov infantry rifle and numerous unlicensed handguns were seized at the suspects' addresses. Of the detained suspects, 8 were released after procedures at the police station, while 80 suspects were referred to the courthouse.

THEY STAGED 76 ACCIDENTS IN 4 YEARS
Within the scope of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Fraud Bureau of the Public Order Branch of the Provincial Police Department identified the gang determined to have obtained unjust compensation from 17 insurance companies through staged traffic accidents between 2022 and 2026. It was determined that the suspects staged 76 traffic accidents during this period and obtained unjust gains through this method. A detention order was issued for 88 suspects whose identities were identified.
KALASHNIKOVS FOUND AT ADDRESSES
Police, who launched an operation in Kocaeli, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Kahramanmaraş, Konya and Çankırı centered in Adana, took 87 suspects into custody in dawn raids on numerous addresses on October 20. It was stated that 1 of the suspects was in prison. A Kalashnikov assault rifle, numerous unlicensed pistols and ammunition were seized at the suspects' addresses.
Eight people whose procedures at the police station were completed were released after their statements, while 80 suspects were referred to court.
