Curran, the Chief of the US Secret Service Protection Team who rushed to Trump's aid during the assassination attempt, has assumed the Directorship of the Secret Service.

In his speech here, Trump emphasized that Curran would do a great job, saying, "I want to congratulate you as an extraordinary man with a wonderful family." Trump pointed out that Curran has proven himself to be a brilliant leader with the ability to manage and lead operational security plans at the most complex events, stating, "He risked his own life to save me from the bullets of an assassin in Pennsylvania, demonstrating his fearless courage. I have complete and total confidence in making the Secret Service stronger than ever."
ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON TRUMP
Trump was shot at during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, while addressing his supporters from the podium. One person attending the rally was killed, and two others were injured. The US Secret Service announced that the assailant had been neutralized.
The FBI classified the attack as an assassination attempt and announced after investigations that the person who attempted the act and was killed at the scene was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Following this attempt, the Secret Service faced numerous criticisms due to "failure and poor communication."
