In the case regarding the nightclub fire in Beşiktaş Gayrettepe, where 29 people lost their lives, the court decided to maintain the detention of the 4 arrested defendants and to await the expert report.

In the hearing held at the Istanbul 33rd Heavy Penal Court, the detained defendants connected via the SEGBIS system, while some non-detained defendants, party lawyers, and plaintiffs attended.

FAMILIES REACT TO EXPERT REPORT

Before the hearing, relatives of the deceased workers and union representatives supporting the families made a press statement in front of the courthouse. In the statement, they reacted to the latest expert report, demanding that the incident be clarified in all its aspects and that those responsible be punished in the harshest manner. 

DETENTION OF 4 DEFENDANTS TO CONTINUE

In the hearing that continued after the break, the court panel stated that the expert report requested in the previous session had not yet been added to the file.
