In the corruption investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), Kaan Ketenci, the owner of an advertising company who was captured in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC), was arrested by the court he was brought before at the Çağlayan Courthouse.
As part of the corruption investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Kaan Ketenci, the owner of an advertising company, who was captured in the TRNC, was arrested by the court to which he was brought.
THE CORRUPTION INVESTIGATION AGAINST IMM CONTINUES
The investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was suspended from his position as the Mayor of IMM, and 99 suspects for the crimes of "being the leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "illegally obtaining personal data," and "interfering with a tender" is ongoing.

While being sought as a fugitive, Ketenci, who was detained in the TRNC, completed his procedures at the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit. The suspect Ketenci was taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. Here, after being brought before the prosecutor's office, he was referred to the duty magistrate with a request for his arrest after his statement was taken. The duty peace criminal court decided to arrest the suspect Ketenci.
HE WAS CAPTURED IN THE TRNC
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit had determined that Kaan Ketenci, the owner of the advertising company, who had an arrest warrant issued against him and was in a fugitive position, was in the TRNC. The suspect was captured and brought to Istanbul through the joint efforts of the liaison officer of the KOM Presidency in the TRNC and the Cyprus Police Organization.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
As part of the corruption and terrorism investigation conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, an arrest warrant was issued for Ekrem İmamoğlu and 99 others on March 18. In the corruption investigation, 48 people were arrested along with İmamoğlu, while 3 people were arrested in the terrorism investigation, and judicial control measures were imposed on 41 others.
