Three suspects detained in connection with the fight involving CHP Edirne Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan, who is alleged to have been beaten over claims of "sexual harassment" and "sexual assault at the level of molestation" against a woman in Edirne, were released under judicial control and a ban on traveling abroad. In the incident, where both parties filed mutual complaints, footage of the fight moment was added to the investigation file, while the CHP administration also summoned Yazgan to its headquarters to investigate all aspects of the incident.
Three suspects, including two women, detained in connection with the alleged assault on CHP Edirne Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan in Edirne, were released by the court they were brought before, subject to judicial control and a travel ban abroad. It was reported that the investigation into the incident, in which both parties filed complaints against each other, continues.
FIGHT BROKE OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT
The incident occurred at night in an apartment building in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Edirne city center. Police teams were dispatched to the address upon a report. Yazgan stated that he was assaulted during the incident, his mobile phone was taken, and his images were recorded, and he filed a complaint.
During the police search, Yazgan's mobile phone was found under the refrigerator and returned to him.
3 PEOPLE DETAINED
In relation to the incident, B.Ş. (33), T.A. (33), and N.D. (39) were detained. In their statements, the suspects claimed that after a birthday celebration, they went to T.A.'s home, drank alcohol there with CHP Edirne Deputy Yazgan, and a subsequent argument escalated into a fight.
It was learned that the parties filed mutual complaints against each other. It was stated that the suspects made allegations of sexual harassment, threats, and insults against Yazgan, and that N.D. claimed to have been injured on the hand by a piece of glass during the fight.
3 SUSPECTS RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL
Footage of the incident was also reviewed as part of the investigation. After their procedures at the police station, the three suspects were referred to the courthouse and released by the criminal judgeship of peace, subject to judicial control and a travel ban abroad.
CHP DECISION ON YAZGAN
Meanwhile, CHP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı announced that following the images published on social media, Yazgan was summoned to CHP Headquarters to investigate all aspects of the incident.
