A fire broke out on the roof of a five-story building in Sultangazi, which is believed to have been caused by a stove, creating a scene of panic. A man living in the apartment broke the window and jumped down in a desperate attempt to escape. Seeing her husband on the ground, the woman immediately went downstairs. When she saw her husband writhing in pain, she was overwhelmed with tears. A witness stated, "Five foreign nationals live there. One broke the window and jumped down. Two did not come out."
A fire broke out on the roof of a five-story building located on 2587 Street in the Cebeci neighborhood of Sultangazi district in Istanbul at around 13:03. The fire, which is believed to have originated from a stove, quickly grew, causing flames to rise from the roof.
HE BROKE THE WINDOW AND JUMPED DOWN
A foreign national in the house broke the window and jumped down in a desperate attempt to escape the flames. Bystanders immediately rushed to help the injured man and moved him away from the burning building. The woman, who saw her husband jump down, immediately went downstairs. Seeing her injured husband writhing in pain on the ground, the woman was overcome with tears.
TWO PEOPLE WERE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
The injured man was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the first intervention at the scene, while the fire was extinguished by the efforts of the fire brigade. While cooling efforts continued, the fire brigade's firefighting efforts were captured by drone.
"WE BELIEVE THE FIRE ORIGINATED FROM A STOVE"
Neighborhood head İbrahim Demir stated, "We believe the fire originated from a stove. It is an apartment where foreign nationals live. One person jumped down from the 5th floor. He was taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire will be determined after the fire department's report," he said.
"TWO PEOPLE DID NOT COME OUT"
A citizen named Osman Yıldırım said, "Foreign nationals live here. Five people live here. One jumped down by breaking the window. We sent him and his wife to the ambulance. Two people did not come out. We are waiting for them," he said.
