A person accused of selling drugs in Adana committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a gun during a live broadcast on social media, refusing to surrender during a police raid. At the time of the incident, the person's family members were also present in the house.

During a raid on the house of a person alleged to be selling drugs, the Adana police reported that the suspect committed suicide by refusing to surrender and live-streaming on social media while shooting himself in the head with a gun.

OPERATION AGAINST THE PERSON ALLEGED TO BE A DRUG DEALER

According to the information obtained, the Provincial Police Department teams conducted an operation on the night of December 10, Wednesday, to capture A.A., who is alleged to be selling illegal substances and has a criminal record, in the Yeşilyurt neighborhood of the Seyhan district. It was also learned that A.A., who lives on the top floor of a three-story building, had recently been released from prison.

"THEN I WILL SHOOT MYSELF IN THE HEAD"

Refusing the police's request to be taken to the station, A.A. prevented the teams from entering by not opening the door. While his parents were also at home, the suspect, who resisted with a gun in his hand, shouted to the police outside, "Can I shoot in the air, bro?" In response to the teams' warning, "Don't shoot," he replied, "Then I will shoot myself in the head."

HE COMMITTED SUICIDE WHILE LIVE STREAMING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

After getting his parents out of the house, A.A. then live-streamed on his social media account using his mobile phone. Negotiators were first dispatched to the area, followed by special operations teams, for the suspect who insisted on not surrendering. Despite warnings, A.A., who did not calm down and was assessed to be under the influence of illegal substances, eventually shot himself in the head with the gun he was holding.

Teams that entered the scene determined that the individual, who was recently divorced from his spouse, had lost his life. The body of the individual, taken to the forensic medicine institution's morgue, was buried by his relatives after the autopsy.
