During the investigation initiated following the complaint of a student who stated that they were sexually harassed by a staff member at the Parliament Restaurant while interning at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the suspect who was taken into custody was arrested for the crime of "sexual harassment against a child."

One suspect has been arrested in the investigation regarding the harassment allegation against an intern student at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

ALLEGATION OF HARASSMENT AGAINST AN INTERN STUDENT IN THE TBMM CAFETERIA

An intern student who is doing their internship at the TBMM during the 2024-2025 academic year claimed to have been sexually harassed by an individual working in the Assembly Cafeteria. The student's family filed an official complaint with the TBMM General Secretariat on November 19, 2025.

ASSEMBLY EMPLOYEE ARRESTED

A new development has occurred in the investigation initiated regarding the matter. H.İ.G., an employee accused of sexually harassing the student named D.K., has been arrested by the court on charges of "sexual harassment against a child."

STATEMENT FROM THE TBMM GENERAL SECRETARIAT

Additionally, a written statement from the TBMM General Secretariat indicated that a complaint petition was submitted to the TBMM General Secretariat by the family of an intern student working during the 2024-2025 academic year on November 19, 2025.

It was emphasized in the statement that an administrative investigation related to the matter was initiated without delay on November 20, 2025, and the following was noted: "The allegations in the petition are being meticulously examined, and so far, a public employee who worked as a cook has been suspended from duty on December 4, 2025. The investigation into other individuals subject to the complaint is ongoing in depth. The investigation is expected to be completed by December 12, 2025, and necessary disciplinary actions will be taken against the relevant individuals, including dismissal from public service and termination of employment. The findings obtained in the current investigation will be shared with judicial authorities."
