In the corruption investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Zafer Keleş, the brother of Fatih Keleş, the president of the İBB Sports Club who is referred to as the 'cashier', has also been arrested. It is alleged that Zafer Keleş transported money belonging to the organization to addresses requested from him by the suspects in the case.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is continuing its corruption investigation against suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was suspended from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) following his arrest, on charges of being a 'leader of a criminal organization', 'membership in a criminal organization', 'bribery', 'qualified fraud', 'illegally obtaining personal data', and 'interfering with a tender'.
Fatih Keleş, President of the IBB Sports Club HIS BROTHER HAS ALSO BEEN ARRESTED Within the scope of the investigation, Zafer Keleş, brother of Fatih Keleş, President of the IBB Sports Club, who was detained on the allegation of delivering money belonging to the organization to addresses requested by the suspects in the file, has completed his procedures at the police station. After undergoing a health check, the suspect was taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. Following his statement at the prosecutor's office, Zafer Keleş was referred to the Istanbul Criminal Court of Peace with a request for his arrest. The court decided to arrest Zafer Keleş after questioning him again.
ALLEGATIONS AGAINST FATİH KELEŞ AND ZAFER KELEŞ Fatih Keleş, who was arrested following the first wave of operations against the IBB and is referred to as the 'cashier', was at the forefront of the bribery allegations. Unidentified sources of money were seized during searches conducted at Fatih Keleş's office in Florya, which was at the center of money counting footage. Additionally, it was claimed that the presidential residence of the IBB in Florya was also used as an office by Fatih Keleş. The prosecutor's office, which deepened the investigation, had also issued a detention order for Zafer Keleş as a 'suspect'. The reason was the allegation that Zafer Keleş delivered a large amount of money to certain addresses.
