After the armed attacks in Afyonkarahisar in which 8 people were killed and 1 person was seriously injured, Kıyır Village Headman Lütfü Yaşar recounted what happened. Yaşar, who stated that he lost relatives in the attack, said, "The attacker did not know them, and they did not know the attacker. They became targets because they were there at that moment." The headman, noting that the attacker targeted people he encountered along the route, said, "It appears that he attacks whoever comes before him."
In the armed attacks carried out by a suspect named Arif Sefa Özdemir with a pump-action shotgun at different locations in Afyonkarahisar, 8 people, including 2 teachers, lost their lives, and 1 person was seriously injured. It was reported that the attacker first seriously injured Sevgi Postalcı, a mother of three, in the city center, and then killed teachers Ayşe Sena Demir and Hilal Mete in Yukarıtandır village.
The suspect, continuing his attacks, killed Ahmet Uzel, Bekir Toprak and Noman Toprak in Ayazini village, and the couple Seydi Ahmet Aydoğmuş and Satı Aydoğmuş in Kıyır village. In the area, İsmail Şen's lifeless body was also found.
After the murders, Özdemir fled to Eskişehir in a vehicle he hijacked; when his vehicle got stuck in the mud in Seyitgazi district, he hijacked another car. The suspect, who opened fire on the teams at a checkpoint set up by security forces, was captured after a clash in which a non-commissioned officer was slightly injured. Özdemir, who was taken into custody, was brought to Afyonkarahisar after his procedures.
HEADMAN WHO LOST RELATIVES IN THE MASSACRE SPEAKS
Lütfü Yaşar, the headman of Kıyır village where the horror took place, said in a statement to Sabah that he was a relative of the couple Seydi Ahmet Aydoğmuş and Satı Aydoğmuş, who lost their lives in the attack.
Explaining that the couple was attacked while returning from the market in Afyonkarahisar city center, Yaşar stated that the incident occurred only 300-400 meters from the village.

Headman Yaşar, stating that the attacker did not know the couple he killed, used the following statements:
"The Aydoğmuş couple are my relatives. They had gone to the market in Afyonkarahisar city center. The attack took place 300-400 meters before the village on the way back from the market. The attacker did not know them, and they did not know the attacker. They were targeted because they were there at that moment. After the massacre, the attacker took them out and hijacked the vehicle."
"IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT HE ATTACKS WHOEVER CROSSES HIS PATH"
Stating that there was no enmity between the attacker and those who lost their lives, Yaşar drew attention to the fact that the murders were committed along the same route.
Yaşar said, "The person who carried out this attack is not from around here either. He comes from outside. Therefore, there is no enmity or disagreement in question. The places where the attack took place are on the same route. So it is understood that he attacks whoever crosses his path."
The Headman of Kıyır Village also added that after the attack they saw many shotgun cartridges at the scene.
