In the investigation launched following allegations of market fraud in some transactions on Borsa Istanbul, Ünsal Ban, Ünal Ban, and Ahmet Karakaş were arrested. Ünsal Ban was known for his contentious divorce process with former deputy Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu.
The investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes Bureau regarding allegations of manipulative actions on certain capital market instruments traded on the BIST Stock Market is ongoing.
Within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that between March and September 2022, there were fluctuations in the number of investors, trading volume, and stock prices of a publicly traded company's shares that were contrary to the ordinary course of life, that artificial increases harmed small investors, and that the activities of the suspects acting in an organized manner constituted the crime of "market fraud."
6 PEOPLE HAD BEEN ARRESTED
In response, a recent operation was carried out by the Financial Crimes Investigation Branch of the Istanbul Police Department, coordinated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, to capture the suspects related to the crime of "organized market fraud" and to prevent the crimes.

In the Istanbul-based operation, Ünsal Ban, who is considered to be the leader of the organization, was caught in Fethiye while attempting to flee abroad. Additionally, 5 suspects, including some executives, were detained during the operation.
