In the Pertek district of Tunceli, 31 kilograms of protected salep tubers were seized from a vehicle stopped by gendarmerie teams. Three individuals in the vehicle were fined a total of 2,097,735 TL. Teams from the Akpazar Gendarmerie Station Command, affiliated with the Pertek District Gendarmerie Command, stopped a vehicle on suspicion during a preventive law enforcement patrol. During the inspection of the vehicle, approximately 31 kilograms of salep tubers were found in one sack and one saddlebag.
DETERMINED TO HAVE BEEN COLLECTED WITHOUT PERMIT
An examination by the Nature Conservation and National Parks teams revealed that the salep tubers, which are among the protected plant species, had been collected without permission. C.K. (50), B.B. (40), and İ.K. (36) were fined a total of 2,097,735 TL for violating Environmental Law No. 2872. The seized salep tubers were handed over to the Nature Conservation and National Parks teams.
