It is planned to make an arrangement in Article 158 of the Turkish Penal Code for those who share account information with others for unjust benefit. This regulation will be added to the 12th Judicial Package and will impose a prison sentence of 3 to 10 years.
A regulation is being planned under Article 158 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) for those who share account information with others for unjust gain, and it is expected to be added to the 12th Judicial Package.
TO BE INCLUDED IN THE 12TH JUDICIAL PACKAGE
According to information obtained by an AA correspondent, AK Party deputies, under the leadership of Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, continue their evaluations regarding a legal regulation for those who share account information with others for unjust gain.
After the completion of the study, it is expected that a clause will be added via a motion to the Draft Law on Amending Certain Laws for the Effective and Efficient Functioning of the Judiciary, known publicly as the "12th Judicial Package."
IMPRISONMENT FROM 3 TO 10 YEARS
If the study is completed, it is planned to make the regulation through a motion during the Turkish Grand National Assembly Justice Committee's discussion of the 12th Judicial Package tomorrow or at the General Assembly stage. Accordingly, a new paragraph will be added to Article 158 of the TCK regarding those who share account information with others for unjust gain, creating a standalone regulation.
With the regulation, instead of "qualified fraud" which requires imprisonment from 3 to 10 years, imprisonment will be imposed under the new provision. The new regulation will also take into account citizens subjected to fraud and effective fight against crime.
