During the operation against ISIS in Yalova, the suspects opened fire on the police. Special operations units were dispatched to the scene after a clash in which 7 police officers were injured. It was reported that the conflict, which began at 2 AM, has been ongoing for hours.
Recently, one of the operations by the security forces against the terrorist organization ISIS was conducted in Yalova. During the operation carried out by the Yalova Police Department teams at a house in Elmalık village, which is affiliated with the center, the suspects at the address opened fire on the police.
7 POLICE OFFICERS INJURED
In the ensuing clash, 7 police officers were injured. The operation, which was supported by special operations police from Bursa, continues with security measures taken in the surrounding area. It was stated that the injured police officers are not in life-threatening condition, while it was learned that one officer would be transferred to Bursa.
SPECIAL OPERATIONS DEPLOYED
In a statement made by the Yalova Governorship regarding the incident, the following expressions were included: "During the planned operation against the ISIS terrorist organization in the area of responsibility of our Yalova Police Department, 7 police officers were injured. In this context, special operations support teams from Bursa were dispatched to the region to provide operational support. The 7 injured police officers were immediately sent to the hospital, and according to the initial medical evaluations, the injured personnel are not in life-threatening condition. Security measures and intervention efforts at the scene are continuing in a controlled manner with the participation of reinforcement forces."
FREQUENT ISIS OPERATIONS IN RECENT DAYS
The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) conducted an effective operation against the organization last week. On December 26, 2025, as a result of a joint operation by MIT and the General Directorate of Security, an ISIS terrorist preparing to carry out an attack in the new year was captured.
İbrahim Burtakuçin, who was caught in Malatya and taken into custody, was arrested by the court he was brought to after his procedures at the police station.
According to information obtained from security sources; as a result of intelligence work carried out by MIT, it was determined that İbrahim Burtakuçin was conducting activities on behalf of the ISIS terrorist organization in Turkey, seeking to join ISIS by moving to conflict zones when the opportunity arose, and preparing for an attack during the New Year.
The operation carried out on December 25, 2025, was conducted under the instruction of the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Upon this instruction, within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch; information was obtained that ISIS was planning actions targeting Turkey, especially against non-Muslim individuals, in connection with the upcoming Christmas and New Year events.
As part of the terrorist organization's activities, it was determined that they were in contact with conflict zones, and arrest warrants were issued for 137 suspects, some of whom were wanted for terrorist crimes at both the national and international levels.
124 ADDRESSES OPERATED: 115 DETENTIONS
Simultaneous operations were conducted at 124 different addresses across Istanbul. As a result of the operation, a large number of pistols, cartridges, and organizational documents were seized. 115 suspects were captured and taken into custody.
