INDIA CANCELS SECURITY PERMITS OF TURKISH AVIATION COMPANY
A decision has come from India that will draw Turkey's reaction. The country's Ministry of Civil Aviation has canceled the security permits of Çelebi Hava Servisi, which provides ground services at airports in India.
ÇELEBI AVIATION ISSUED A STATEMENT
In a statement published to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) regarding the matter, Çelebi stated that it provides ground services at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, Cochin International Airport, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Manohar International Airport, and Kannur Airports in India.
The statement included the following: "The security permits granted to them under the legislation applicable in India to be able to provide airport ground services and cargo services have been revoked by the Civil Aviation Security Bureau of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, on the grounds that they constitute a violation of national security interests. The instructions of the Civil Aviation Security Bureau of the Ministry of Civil Aviation have been communicated to our relevant subsidiaries mentioned above on 15.05.2025 (today). As a result of these notifications, the activities of CASI, CGHI, Celebi Nas, Celebi Delhi Cargo, and CGSC at the aforementioned airports in India have been suspended in accordance with the relevant legislation in India."
WE DID NOT ACT AGAINST NATIONAL SECURITY INTERESTS
The company continued its statement by expressing that they have made significant contributions to the development and growth of the aviation sector in the country through their subsidiaries in India: "As the largest foreign investor in the ground services and cargo services sector in India since 2009, we have provided employment opportunities to approximately 10,000 Indian citizens so far and have invested more than 250 million US dollars in the country. Since the day our subsidiaries started their operations, they have not engaged in any activities that would violate national security interests in India or the relevant legislation in the country.
Our company and its subsidiaries bear no responsibility for any potential difficulties, delays, or developments that may negatively affect airport operations and civil air traffic as a result of the revocation of security permits based on unjust and false claims by administrative authorities."
