In the Palu district of Elazığ, a bull that entered the Murat River and got stranded on an island was rescued by fisherman Memet Şekerci and his friends using a raft.
A calf that was stranded on an islet after entering the Murat River in the Palu district of Elazığ was rescued thanks to the timely intervention of fishermen.
STRANDED ON ISLET BY CURRENT
The incident occurred in the Murat River in the Palu district. According to the information obtained, a calf belonging to a breeder ran from the pasture toward the river for an unknown reason. The animal entered the water and, under the influence of the current, got stranded on an islet in the middle of the river.
RESCUE OPERATION WITH A RAFT
Local residents who noticed the situation sought help from Memet Şekerci, a fisherman in the region for many years, and his friends. Şekerci and his team reached the islet with inflatable boats and rafts called "kelek," unique to the region. After intense effort, the calf was safely tied to the raft and brought to the shore.
HEALTH CONDITION IS GOOD
It was learned that the rescued calf is in good health. The animal was handed over to its owner waiting on the shore.
