14 PEOPLE DETAINED

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against 24 users for the crime of "inciting to commit a crime." According to the statement, 14 people were detained.

In a statement from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that "work was carried out regarding social media accounts that made provocative posts inciting the public to take to the streets and commit crimes in relation to illegal actions that took place in front of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters on September 8, 2025, against the meeting and demonstration ban imposed by the Istanbul Governorship in accordance with Articles 17 and 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations."

In this context, the identification of users of 24 social media accounts was carried out, and an investigation was initiated against the individuals for the crime of 'Inciting to Commit a Crime' under Article 214 of the Turkish Penal Code. In the operations conducted, 14 people were captured and their statements were taken as suspects. Following their statements, 9 people were detained and instructed to be presented at our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Efforts to capture the 10 fugitives are ongoing," it was stated.
