President Erdoğan is making statements following the Cabinet meeting.
The Cabinet convened at Beştepe under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan. The meeting, which lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes, addressed developments in domestic and foreign policy, the process of a Terror-Free Turkey, and the current state of the economy. After the meeting, President Erdoğan made statements in front of the cameras.
Highlights from President Erdoğan's statements are as follows:
"We celebrated Victory Week, which we observe between August 25-30, this year as well. In the ceremonies in Ahlat and Malazgirt, we once again declared the eternal brotherhood of our nation to the whole world. We visited the Gölbaşı campus of ASELSAN, one of the leading organizations of the Turkish defense industry, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. There, we took 3 commendable steps for our defense industry in a single move.
ERDOĞAN: WITH THE STEEL DOME, WE ARE BECOMING A PLAYER IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE
We have integrated steel dome systems, consisting of a total of 47 vehicles, into the inventory of our heroic army. We officially opened 14 critical facilities worth 280 million dollars. When this project is completed, it will hopefully become one of the most advanced defense technology centers in the region. With the agile dome, which is a system of systems, we are becoming a player in a different league in air defense.
ATTACK ON POLICE STATION IN İZMİR
I once again wish God's mercy upon our heroic law enforcement officers who were martyred in the treacherous attack, and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured. May our nation's head be held high.
"OPPOSING NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS IS A PRODUCT OF IGNORANCE"
We must include nuclear energy in our production portfolio. With the commissioning of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which has a total installed capacity of 4800 mg, we will break the devil's leg. Opposing nuclear power plants is a product of ignorance. A shallow mindset is of no benefit to the country. The general chairman of the main opposition party exhibiting the same approach regarding the defense industry in Sinop is another example of incompetence. Apparently, fish and tourists are disturbed by missile tests. Look at the seriousness. If you say it's true, it's not true; if you say it's funny, it's not funny. The gentleman does not even feel the need to investigate this simple reality because he only acts on command.
DECISION TO APPOINT A TRUSTEE TO CHP ISTANBUL PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATION
No one in Turkey is outside the scope of the law. Criticizing court decisions is one thing, not recognizing them is another. Saying 'I do not recognize court decisions' is a challenge to the rule of law. It is unthinkable to turn a blind eye to such irresponsibility. We will never allow the streets to be stirred up.
We will not allow the escalating chair struggle between the old and new cadres of the main opposition to hinder the country's gains. We will fulfill our responsibilities to ensure that judicial and administrative processes are carried out smoothly."
